The Bullies Ain’t Tough program brought together elementary school kids with the police officers who have formed the band, “The Heat.” The band performs at various Oshawa schools as part of their “Bullies Ain’t Tough” campaign. After the show, the band joins the kids in their classrooms to dicuss various issues facing youth today, including bullying. | 17 Division – Oshawa |

The Youth in Action program brought youth and police together for a 13-week leadership course to assist at-risk youth in returning to the education system and succedd. The Uxbridge Youth Select Baseball team saw a police officer coach a baseball team of 15 youth from Uxbridge. The officer-coach and youth meet for practises and games 3-4 times per week. School Liaison officers from 17 Division and youth from schools in North and South Oshawa worked together to design and paint the Ontario Special Olympics Murals to be displayed at the Special Olympics. In working together to create the beautiful murals, youth and police in Oshawa made a strong connection and friendship. | 17 Division – Oshawa |

The Brock High School Grade 9 Orientation Camp aimed to prepare and excite youth entering high school in Brock Township, as well as instill a broader sense of community in the youth and create new friendships between cops and teens. Youth were divided into teams, with each team welcoming a police officer participant. The teams faced off against each other in a variety of games and activities designed to build confidence, leadership and teamwork. | 15 Division – North Durham |

The Youth in Action Day brought together youth a from North Oshawa Co-op housing neighbourhood with officers from 17 Division. Cops and kids play against together in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament throughout the day. The goal of the day was to promote a positive image of police within the community and to create new friendships and connections between police and community members. | 17 Division – Oshawa |

The SYLK (Student Youth Leadership Kamp) program brought youth, aged 14-18, and police together for 3 days to participate in a variety of leadership courses at the Ontario Educational Leadership Centre.The aim of the program is to create positive relationships between police and youth, while providing youth with important skills for the future. | 15 Division – North Durham |
