Over the past 6 weeks, 10 young women completed the RISE program in our Halton chapter. Resilience Inspired Strength Empowered. Led by @haltonpolice officers with the help of ProAction's supporters, RISE helps participants build personal growth and develop inner strength. Watching these young women grow over six weeks shows exactly why programs like this are so important. Congratulations to everyone who completed RISE. Sometimes, what a young person needs most is someone to listen and help them move forward. "I had an in-depth conversation with a young kid about the father's decision to abandon the youth at the age of twelve; this has been a significant contributing factor to the behavior displayed. Through the program ProAction supported, we were able to formulate a short-term plan that incorporated school, positive choices, and counseling. ✨️ ProAction Program Feature ✨️ The Horsin' Around 2025 program led by TPS 55 Division NCOs engaged in a three-day equestrian experience. Participants visited the Dunraven Farm in Uxbridge for hands-on stable management, horse handling, and riding lessons. Beyond practical skills, horses provide therapeutic benefits that help build mental and emotional confidence. The program ended with a visit to the TPS Mounted Unit for an inside look at how these animals serve our community. Rugby Football Program (2009-2016) Success stories like these emphasize the ongoing need to bring cops and kids together in skill-building and mentoring programs to create trust, respect and safer communities. At ProAction, we believe that engaging cops and kids together in healthy, pro-social activities creates positive relationships and builds a mutual respect and understanding that strengthens our community today and for the future. High school students in Durham got to work out with DRPS East Division officers in the Work Out With A Cop ProAction funded program. This experience allowed youth to ask questions about policing careers. What does the job actually require? What does a day look like? Youth got answers while breaking a sweat.
