There is something truly special about working for a charity. It is not just a job; it is a daily reminder of the real difference we make together. We are proud to say our work helps fund programs that give local young people the chance to grow, learn new skills, build confidence, and find their place in the community. Each day shows us why this work matters. Thank you for supporting ProAction Cops & Kids' work; we couldn't do it without you! #ProActionKids #copsandkids #charity #charitywork #communityengagement

Every ProAction program starts with an idea. Every ProAction program is an opportunity for local youth to learn a skill they may never have had the chance to try. Steady funding is what turns it into something young people can count on. That's why growing and diversifying how ProAction raises funds is one of our three priorities. Our events, our chapters' local fundraising, and the individuals, corporations, and family foundations who stand with us all help keep programs going for local young people across Southern Ontario. Thank you for being part of it. Learn how you can help at www.copsandkids.ca 💛 #ProActionKids #charity #charitywork #youthprograms #southernontario

The 2025 John Bitove Sr. Award goes to CIBC! The John Bitove Sr. Award recognizes the corporation or foundation that stands out in supporting ProAction Cops & Kids. This year’s award is being presented to CIBC ( @cibc ) for their incredible support of ProAction Cops & Kids. ProAction Cops & Kids was founded in 1991 thanks to the generosity of ten corporate donors who equally contributed to a $1 million fund to support ProAction programs. CIBC is one of these founding donors and has continued to support ProAction Cops & Kids ever since. Over 34 years, CIBC has contributed more than $600,000 to support police-led youth programs through different sources, including program donations from the CIBC Children’s Foundation, sponsorship of ProAction events, golf foursomes, and donations to support special projects. In 2025, CIBC invested in the future of youth by providing a significant donation to support the Toronto Police Service’s Youth Basketball League – Youth Becoming Leaders program (YBL). For over 13 years, officers from Toronto’s 55 Division have been leading the YBL program, offering youth from high-priority neighbourhoods a safe, healthy alternative to spending Friday nights on the streets. In addition to developing their basketball skills and playing in a league, these youth participate in employment skill-building activities and training that have led many to promising career opportunities. Thank you and congratulations! #ProActionKids #charity #CIBC #toronto #copsandkids #charitywork

Meet Jaxon, our 2025 Youth Leadership Award winner! Jaxon is described as a highly athletic and motivated young man who naturally stepped into a leadership role in Halton’s Skills and Drills Flag Football & Game Changers Youth Basketball Programs. He consistently supported his peers by building their confidence, encouraging teamwork, and helping develop their athletic skills. Whether at sports practices or volunteer initiatives, his reliability has earned him the respect of peers and mentors alike. Jaxon has expressed his gratitude for the trust and guidance of the Halton police officers and is eager to return and continue supporting future ProAction programs as a youth mentor. Congratulations Jaxon! 🏆 Up next: the John Bitove Sr. Award... #ProActionKids #charity #halton #youthprograms #copsandkids

Today is World Mental Health Day. 💛 Did you know? At ProAction Cops & Kids, we fund police-led programs that give young people opportunities to take part in sports, arts, mentoring, and skill-building activities. These programs help youth build confidence, manage stress, develop healthy relationships, and feel more connected to their community. Positive activities and supportive relationships can play an important role in young people’s mental health. Huge thanks to everyone who supports our work so that more local youth have access to these programs. #WorldMentalHealthDay #ProActionKids #youthmentalhealth #community #charity

It takes a lot to get a group of Hamilton youth out to Algonquin, from planning and a pool training day to a 5 a.m. start and officers giving up their personal time to make it happen. When a canoe flipped near the end of the day, the group knew exactly what to do because they had practiced for it. That's SWAMPY, and it's how ProAction skill-building and mentorship programs work. Officers lead, partners and volunteers pitch in, and supporters like you make the whole thing possible. Thank you for being part of it. 💛 📸: @swampyproactionhamilton #ProActionKids #charity #hamont #charitywork #youthprograms

Meet Shireen-Laura, our 2025 Peel Youth Award winner! 🏆 Shireen-Laura was a proud participant in the Lawncare Leadership Program in our Peel chapter, but her involvement with ProAction began long before that. Since spring 2023, she has taken part in five ProAction programs, growing remarkably as a young leader. She found her voice and strengthened her leadership skills, returning to programs such as Bonnie’s Horsepower as an Assistant Youth Leader and Rappel to Win as a senior rappeller. Most recently, Shireen-Laura decided to pursue a career in policing. She is actively learning about the requirements while improving her fitness and strength in preparation for this next chapter of her life. Congratulations, Shireen-Laura! 🎉 Next stop: London! Stay tuned as we celebrate the 2025 Award Winner in our London Chapter... #ProActionKids #youthprograms #charity #peelregion #peelpolice

Happy October! We are starting the month by highlighting that the 2025 Most Innovative Police-Youth Program Award goes to Cst Jerome Sta Maria in our Peel chapter! The Lawncare Leadership Program was created to equip youth with practical, marketable skills to support future employment opportunities in the lawncare service industry. With guidance from Cst Sta Maria and his team, five youth learned the fundamentals of the trade while providing services to households in need, with a focus on elderly residents and veterans. Thanks to Cst Sta Maria's dedication, one participant was recognized for outstanding performance and was hired by a lawn care company following the program. Congratulations, Cst Sta Maria! 🌱 Up next: our Peel Youth Award winner... #ProActionKids #charity #copsandkids #peel #lawncare
