Join us in celebrating the recipient of the 2025 Toronto Youth Award: Andrew! Andrew joined the Kicks for Kids and Cops program as a young participant, building his soccer skills in a supportive team environment. After graduating, he returned as a volunteer mentor, giving younger participants the encouragement he once received. Inspired by his experience, Andrew applied to and was accepted into the Toronto Police YIPI program and is now pursuing a career in policing to continue giving back to the community that gave to him. There's something powerful about learning to cook a meal. It builds confidence. It builds independence. And when it happens alongside mentors, it builds trust that lasts. Cook With A Cop ProAction program brought youth in Toronto Police Service 12 Division into the kitchen with PC Rallis, learning new skills, sharing meals, and forming connections that go far beyond the recipes. Every participant left with a cookbook made by PC Rallis, a reminder of what they learned and the people who taught them. Programs like this don't just teach a skill. They give young people something to hold onto. Programs like Cook With A Cop are only possible thanks to amazing supporters like you. Thanks to our supporters, community youth programs like Mentorship Youth (M.Y.) Camp are possible—thank you! M.Y. Camp (Mentorship Youth Camp) is a free program for Halton region students in grades 7 to 9 who want to develop their leadership skills and learn more about community safety and well-being. Through hands-on activities led by Halton Regional Police Service officers and community partners, participants build confidence, self-esteem, and practical life skills. Youth also get a behind-the-scenes look at different policing units and the roles officers play within the Service. To learn more about ProAction Cops & Kids work visit www.copsandkids.ca. PC Celestine designed and delivered That's a Wrap - Filmmaking Workshop, a three-month program that brought @torontopolice officers, film industry professionals, and local youth together to create and produce a Youth Anti-Violence PSA. Since 1991, our Toronto Chapter has grown alongside the city, funding programs that connect Toronto Police officers with young people through skill-building and mentorship. That's a Wrap - Filmmaking Workshop brought Toronto youth together with police officers and film industry professionals to create a Youth Anti-Violence PSA. Led by PC Curtis Celestine, this program gave young people hands-on experience in film production while introducing them to potential career paths in the industry. DRPS/ProAction Learn to Golf 2025 is one of the many examples of the skill-building and mentorship youth programs we fund through our generous supporters. ProAction Learn to Golf was led by East Division’s Community Response Unit. The program gave 12 youth in the Durham Region the opportunity to learn the basics of golf while being coached by Golf Professional Mark Gibson and several DRPS officers at Kedron Dells Golf Club.
